About Obibiezena Progressive Association USA
(A Non-Profit Organization) of Washington/Baltimore Metropolitan Area

Obibiezena Progressive Association USA is the official Mid-Atlantic umbrella association of the Obibiezena citizens in the United States of America.

The Association was established in April 2002 when  Obibiezena citizens, living in the Washington/Baltimore Metropolitan Area saw the need for an association that will look after their needs and welfare and also provide the opportunity to interact and articulate how to support the development of Obibiezena.


The motto of the Association “Idin'otu', Udo na Oga-nihu na ala Obibiezena” symbolizes its vision.

THE CONSTITUTION OF OBIBIEZENA PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION, USA

  We, the members of Obibiezena Progressive Association, USA, conscious of our cultural heritage, moral upbringing, communal unity and democratic values of our area of origin and believing in the dignity of man, do hereby adopt this constitution as commitment to our values This document shall provide a reference guide to all officers and members of the association who have agreed to be guided by the dictates of this constitution until an amendment is made.


Following a successful election in 2006, a new set of executive was elected to run the affairs of the Association under the leadership of John Etoh.

 

Its aims and objective are:

  • to create an umbrella Organisation for the People of Obibiezena in the United States of America

  • to foster the spirit of unity among all people of Obibiezena origin living in the United States of America

  • to contribute to the development of Obibiezena community socially, culturally, educationally and otherwise, at home and abroad. click to watch Obibiezena Community center development project.
  • to promote a better understanding and appreciation of the African cultural heritage in general , the culture of the Obibiezena people in Igbo land, the Nigerian community, and in particular among members of the association and the citizens of the United States of America.
